ABILENE, TX, March 25, 2013: Lauren Engineers & Constructors (Lauren) has been featured in Construction Executive Magazine’s March 2013 issue in a feature story about world-class safety performance as it relates to culture change within a company. Todd Meek, Lauren’s Corporate Safety Director, offers insight into Lauren’s unique safety culture.
Meek explains how getting back to the basics of safety fundamentals and defining clear parameters for supervisors have helped the company develop an industry-leading safety program. Lauren uses a Supervisor Safety Responsibility Program (SSRP) to make sure employees are thoroughly trained in areas such as pre-task planning, first-aid, jobsite audits, and OSHA-required courses.
Support from CEO Cleve Whitener, as well as recognition programs for outstanding safety performance, have helped engrain a steadfast commitment to safety across the organization. The dedication to safety from each employee has not only saved Lauren and its clients time and money, but has also helped save lives.
