ABC – Excellence in Construction Award

Awarded: 2012

In recognition of Lauren’s excellence on the Martin Solar Power Project, Lauren was selected to receive the Excellence in Construction Award. The Martin Solar Energy Center represents the first solar hybrid facility in the world to connect to an existing combined cycle power plant.

The project was completed ahead of schedule and over $75M under budget. This award recognizes Lauren’s commitment to quality, safety and innovation.

ABC – National Safety Pinnacle Award

Awarded: 2016, 2015, 2014, and 2013

The ABC National Safety Excellence Awards recognize companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee.

ABC – Safety Excellence Award

Awarded: 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011

This award is presented to companies who have achieved total recordable and lost time rates lower than the national average.

ABC – STEP Diamond Award

Awarded: 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011

For the fifth consecutive year, Lauren has been selected to receive the prestigious STEP Diamond Safety Award from ABC. The Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Awards recognize members who achieve effective safety practices at their firms, and are based on 20 key elements of contractor safety programs such as management commitment, safety responsibilities of personnel, and budget.

The STEP process, developed and written by contractors for contractors, is a tool designed to objectively evaluate safety programs, policies, procedures and training.

Awarded: 2010

Alstom Partner of Excellence Award

Awarded: 2012

The Partner of Excellence Award is an annual award presented by Alstom Power, Environmental Control Systems.

This annual award is based on the following criteria:

  • On-Time Schedule
  • Quality of Service
  • Innovation Towards Supplier/Customer Relationships

CSP Today – CSP Competitiveness

Awarded: 2011 and 2010

Award for combativeness in regard to design and construction of CSP facilities. Voted on by peers at the CSP USA Conference.

CURT – Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Award

Awarded: 2015

The Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Awards program was established to recognize commendable safety management and safety improvements of owners, constructors, and Local User Councils. The organization recognizes those firms or organizations that have most effectively implemented the principles outlined in the CURT publication entitled, “The Construction Owners’ Safety Blueprint”.

Eastman Chemical Company – Outstanding Performance on a Capital Project

Awarded: 2014

Eastman noted the following project areas of outstanding performance by Lauren: safety performance, efficient and enhanced communication, daily work planning within an area of the operating plant, working within an integrated team, creative workarounds, and schedule, quality, and cost performance.

FCURT “TOPS” Safety Award

Awarded: 2011

The TOPS (Target Outstanding Project Safety) Award is bestowed by the FCURT Safety Awards Panel recognizing safety excellence.

Power Engineering – Project of the Year Award FPL’s Martin Solar Energy Center

Awarded: 2011

Each year Power Engineering awards the Project of the Year title in three categories: Best Coal-Fired Project, Best Gas-Fired Project, and Best Renewable Energy Project. The projects are judged by a panel of editors from Power Engineering based on innovation, environmental impact, and benefits to the local community.

For 2012, FPL’s Martin Solar Energy Center (MSEC) Project was selected as the project of the year in the category of renewable energy. Lauren Engineers & Constructors was the EPC contractor on this project, which reached commercial operation in December 2010. To win this award the MSEC Project was selected out of seven entries in the renewable category. Out of those seven, five, including the Martin project, were solar developments. Two of the projects were from outside of the U.S. (Germany and Canada).

Tennessee Governors Award for Safety Excellence

Awarded: 2016, 2014, and 2011

Lauren Engineers & Constructors was awarded the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Safety by the Tennessee Occupational Safety & Health Administration. The award recognizes Lauren’s commitments to safety and outstanding safety performance at the Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS) facility in Erwin, Tennessee.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Certificate of Merit

Awarded: 2010

Lauren served as the General Contractor for the refurbishment and rebuild of 6 GE hydro turbines for the Army Corps of Engineers at the John H. Kerr Dam in Boydton, Virginia. This project safety award recognizes the team’s commitment to safety throughout the project, which resulted in zero lost-time injuries on the project.

WSO – Concerned Company/Corporation Award

Awarded: 2012, 2011, and 2010

A Company or corporation with an excellent safety program, safety record, etc., industrial in nature, with programs on off-the-job safety, environmental programs, etc. Company or corporation who is actively (and above average in) contributing to protection of people, property, resources and the environment through innovative programs; shows distinctive concern for the well-being of its employees and local community.

WSO – Education Award

Awarded: 2010

Institution, company, training entity, individual, etc., with an above average program of educational nature in the fields of environmental/occupational safety and health, fire science and safety, public safety, health care safety, transportation safety, or similar programs; actively (and above average in) contributing to the protection of people, property, resources and the environment through innovative programs; with distinctive concern for the education of professionals and general public in the disciplines of safety and allied fields.
