ABILENE, TX, November 6, 2012:  Fred Dudley, Site Safety Coordinator at Lauren Engineers and Constructors, recently obtained the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) license, one of the highest designations a safety professional can attain.  The CSP credential is the mark of the safety professional, similar to the PE designation for engineers or the CPA designation for accountants.

Becoming a CSP denotes that the individual has passed rigorous examinations and has met educational and experience standards.  Mr. Dudley is the second person at Lauren to achieve this status.

The CSP license is nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and internationally accredited by the American National Standards Institute under the ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 standards for personnel certification programs. ANSI is the primary source for internationally recognized standards in government, business, and professional practice, and is often referred to as the world’s leading accreditation body.

“Meeting ANSI’s standards is a result of our instituting procedures at the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), which are designed to ensure both quality and growth,” says Board of Certified Safety Professionals Executive Director Thomas L. Adams. “BCSP is confident that the CSP will consistently be regarded as the safety profession’s premier certification.”
