ABILENE, TX, March 30: David McWright, Project Engineer for Lauren Engineers & Constructors, Inc., will be speaking at the Lone Star Solar Summit, to be hosted April 18th-19th in San Angelo, TX.

With over 20 years of experience in the power sector and several years in the solar power sector, Mr. McWright is uniquely qualified to speak about Lauren and its involvement with concentrated solar power (CSP) projects.

Mr. McWright will be discussing design, engineering, construction and operations of some of the most innovative CSP projects. Specifically, Mr. McWright will be speaking about the Martin Solar Project, Nevada Solar One, as well as the Godawari Solar Power project in India. Lauren served as the EPC contractor for each of these projects, and David maintained a crucial engineering role in each of these project efforts. FPL’s Martin Next Generation Solar Energy Center is a 75 MW CSP plant in Florida which currently represents the second largest solar thermal plant in the world. Nevada Solar One, a 72 MW CSP plant in Nevada, is currently the third largest solar thermal plant in operation in the world. The Godawari Solar project, a 50 MW CSP plant located in Rajasthan, India, is currently under construction.

The purpose of his session is to offer grassroots information about CSP in order to provide a better understanding of CSP and its potential in Texas.
