ABILENE, TX, FEBRUARY 29, 2012: Lauren was recently awarded a National Safety Merit Award by
Associated Builders and Contractors. This highly competitive award is bestowed annually on a few select
contractors that maintain an industry leading safety program, proven by best-in-class safety results.
For 2011, ABC received 2,160 applications to be considered for ABC’s Safety Excellence Awards. Of
those 2,160 companies, only 554 (25%) met the minimum qualifying criteria to apply for the National
Safety Excellence and Merit Awards (96 STEP Diamond recipients and 460 STEP Platinum recipients).
10 STEP Diamond recipients were selected as Excellence winners and 8 STEP Diamond recipients were
selected as Merit award winners – out of 23 Diamond recipients that submitted applications for the
National Safety Excellence Award competition.

The safety program at Lauren is ranked as one of the top in the industry and has logged more than 7
million hours since the last lost time injury.
