MUMBAI, India (PRWEB) June 01, 2011 — Lauren CCL Engineers Private Limited (Lauren CCL), a leading EPCM contractor in India, announced today a Letter of Award from Cargo Power & Infrastructure to provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services for a 25 MW Solar Thermal Power Plant to be located in Gujarat, India.

In addition to the traditional benefits of clean, renewable solar thermal power, this project will also utilize thermal storage in order to maximize efficiency. Through the use of molten salt as a thermal storage medium, this solar plant will be able to produce power beyond the normal limits of daytime solar power production.

“Lauren is known as the leader in Solar Thermal Power in the United States and we are eager to use this experience to build world class solar facilities which will help India create clean energy for years to come,” said Tushar Shahane, CEO of Lauren CCL.

This project represents one of four solar projects which Lauren is currently undertaking in India, with a combined total of 250 MW. The Cargo Power Project, named Gujarat Solar One, is scheduled for completion during the 4th quarter of 2012.
